Robert Blase, O.D.

Dr. Blase received B.S. and O.D. degrees from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia. He practiced at Blase Family Eye Care from 1981-1999 which was owned by his father John and his grandfather Albert who were both Optometrists. He joined the Eye Care Specialists optometric staff in 1999. Dr. Blase specializes in comprehensive eye exams, optometric management of ocular disease, contact lens fitting and evaluations, with a special interest in difficult contact lens fittings and CRT (Corneal Refractive Therapy). Dr. Blase also provides refractive surgery evaluations and co-management. He is a member of the American Optometric Association, and the Northeastern Pennsylvania Optometric Association. Dr. Blase received a Coach of the Year Award for his participation in the Dallas Youth Basketball program. Dr. Blase resides in Dallas with his wife, Mary. He enjoys tennis, golf, racquetball and the outdoors.

James Bozzuto, O.D.

Dr. Bozzuto received B.S. and O.D degrees from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia. He has been in private practice since 1982, and has practiced at Eye Care Specialists, Dallas, since 2000. Dr. Bozzuto specializes in comprehensive eye exams, optometric management of ocular disease, contact lens fittings and evaluations. Dr. Bozzuto has participated in contact lens research and was the Clinical Investigator for the FDA study on the Boston Contact lens 1982-83 and the Clinical Investigator for the CIBA Progressive Bifocal Contact lens in 2000. He has served as consultant to Pocono Raceway NASCAR races from 1991 to present. He currently resides in Plains Township.

Adam M Coffee, O.D.

Dr. Coffee received B.S. and O.D. degrees from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia and graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Scranton. He has been a member of the Eye Care Specialists' optometric staff since 1998 and Pugliese Eye Specialists from 1992-1998.

He specializes in optometric management of ocular disease, refractive surgery evaluation/co-management, and comprehensive eye exams. His professional awards include the Optometric Recognition Award in 1997, the CIBA Contact Lens Excellence Award in 1992, and Clinical Honors at the Eye Institute. He is currently a member of the American Optometric Association, the Pennsylvania Optometric Association, and the Northeastern Pennsylvania Optometric Association. Dr. Coffee is also a Clinical Research Investigator for a Vistakon J & J Contact Lens Studies.

Diane M DelRegno, O.D.

Dr. DelRegno received B.S in Biology from Wilkes-University and an O.D degree from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia . She recently joined the Eye Care Specialists optometric staff after moving back to the region from the Philadelphia Area where she practiced optometry for the past eight years. She specializes in comprehensive eye exams, contact lens fitting and evaluations, optometric management of ocular disease, and refractive surgery evaluation and co-management. Dr. DelRegno is currently a member of the American Optometric Association, the Pennsylvania Optometric Association, and the Northeast Pennsylvania Optometric Society. Dr. DelRegno's awards include Magna Cum Laude, Wilkes University; Wilkes Women’s Association Scholarship recipient; Jenkins Township Lion's Club Scholarship recipient; and Wilkes University Presidential Scholarship recipient. Dr. DelRegno and her husband, Craig Hopple, reside in the Back Mountain.

Jeffrey Empfield, O.D.

Dr. Empfield received B.S. and O.D. degrees from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia and a B.S. degree in Biology from the Pennsylvania State University. He is the Director of Optometry at Eye Care Specialists and has been a member of the Eye Care Specialists' optometric staff since 1991. Dr. Empfield was named Optometrist of the Year in 1999 by the Northeastern PA Optometric Society and received the Optometric Recognition Award in 1998 and 2000. He is a member of the Pennsylvania Optometric Association and The American Optometric Association. Dr. Empfield is part of the adjunct clinical faculty at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and is in charge of the Optometry Externship Program for fourth year optometric students at Eye Care Specialists. His specialties include comprehensive eye exams, contact lens fittings, optometric management of ocular disease, and refractive surgery evaluation and co-management. Dr. Empfield is also actively involved in Christian medical missions in Honduras with World Gospel Outreach. Dr. Empfield currently resides in Shavertown with his wife Ann.

Darrell Evans, O.D.

Dr. Evans received Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Wilkes University and an O.D. degrees from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia. He was in private practice locally providing Eye Care from 1985-1988 and from 1989-2010. He practiced in Arizona from 1988–1989. He joined the Eye Care Specialists optometric staff in 2010. Dr. Evans specializes in comprehensive eye exams, optometric management of ocular disease, contact lens fitting and evaluations, and Diabetic eye disease management. Dr. Evans also provides refractive surgery evaluations and co-management. He is a member of the American Optometric Association, Northeastern Pennsylvania Optometric Association and the Pennsylvania Optometric Association.

Mark P Grohol, O.D.

Dr. Mark P. Grohol received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from the Bloomsburg University 1990 where he graduated Cum Laude and with a Designation in Laboratory Medicine. He received his Doctor of Optometry Degree in 1995 from Pennsylvania College of Optometry, Philadelphia Pennsylvania. Dr. Grohol also interned through Villanova University at the Chester County Hospital from 1990 – 1991. Dr. Grohol specializes comprehensive eye exams, optometric management of ocular disease, contact lens fittings and evaluations; refractive surgery evaluations and co-management. Dr. Grohol is a member of the American Optometric Association, American Optometric Association Contact Lens Section, and the Pennsylvania Optometric Association.

Dr. Grohol joined Eye Care Specialists in 2006 and sees patients in the Hazleton Office which is located at 1720 E Broad Street; Hazleton, PA. He and his daughter reside in Hazleton. Dr. Grohol enjoys traveling, sports, golf, and community service.

Jason Guilford, O.D.

Dr. Jason Guilford received his Bachelor of Science Degree with Departmental Honors in Biochemistry from Susquehanna University in 1996. He received his Doctor of Optometry Degree in 2001 from New England College of Optometry in 2001. He completed an internship at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute in Miami Florida in 2000, an internship from New England Eye Institute Specialty Rotation in Boston, Massachusetts in 20001, and his Residency from the Veterans Affairs Health Care System in Boston, Massachusetts in 2002.

Dr. Guilford is a member of the American Optometric Association, Pennsylvania Optometric Association, and is also a member of the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society. Dr. Guilford was the recipient of many Scholarships including the NECO Merit Scholarship in 1998 and 1999, the NECO Beider Moral Obligations Scholarship in 2000, and the Corning Low Vision Scholarship in 2001.

Dr. Guilford, a native of Northeastern Pennsylvania, most recently practiced in Pittsburgh and Monroeville Pennsylvania previous to moving back to the area to relocate near his family in the Wyoming Valley. Dr. Guilford joined Eye Care Specialists in 2008 and sees patients in the Bloomsburg Office which is located at 102 West Main Street in Bloomsburg.

Dr. Guilford specializes in Comprehensive Eye Exams, Optometric Management of Ocular Disease, Contact Lens fittings and evaluations, and Refractive Surgery Evaluations and Co-management. Dr. Guilford and his wife have two children.

Michael Havrilla, O.D.

After receiving B.S. and O.D. degrees from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia, Dr. Havrilla practiced optometry in Whitehall, PA and in Stroudsburg, PA. He joined Eye Care Specialists' optometric staff in 1999. His specialties include comprehensive eye exams, contact lens fitting and evaluations, refractive surgery evaluation and co-management, and optometric management of ocular disease. He is currently a member of the American Optometric Association, the Pennsylvania Optometric Association, and the Northeast Pennsylvania Optometric Society. Dr. Havrilla and his wife Ellen reside in Wilkes-Barre. Dr. Havrilla enjoys golfing in his free time.

Kirsten A Jervis, O.D.

Dr. Kirsten A. Jervis received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from Lafayette College in Easton PA in 1998 (Magna cum Laude). She studied at the University of Westminster in London England in the spring of 1997 through the semester abroad program through Butler University. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Vision Science in 1999 and her Doctor of Optometry Degree with Highest Honors in 2002 from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Dr. Jervis has been in private practice with Dr. Marie E. Sokol in Scranton, Pa since 2002. She also practiced at Northeastern Eye Institute in Scranton from 2003-2004. Dr. Jervis specializes in comprehensive eye exams, optometric management of ocular disease, contact lens fittings and evaluations, and refractive surgery evaluations and co-management.

Dr. Jervis is a member of the American Optometric Association, American Optometric Association Cornea and Contact Lens Section, Pennsylvania Optometric Association, and the Northeastern Pennsylvania Optometric Association. She has received the Conforma Contact Lenses Award, Biocompatibles Eye Care Innovative Research Award, Presidential Scholarship, Board of Trustees Scholarship, and the E.F. Wildermuth Scholarship. Also, she is a member of Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society and Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society.

Dr. Jervis joined Eye Care Specialists in 2006 and sees patients in the Scranton Office which is located at 425 Adams Avenue, Scranton, PA.

Joseph J Lombardi, O.D.

Dr. Lombardi received B.S and O.D. degrees from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia. He owned and operated his own optometry practice in Berwick from 1997-2003 and joined Eye Care Specialists’ optometric staff in 2003. He specializes in pediatric optometry, optometric management of ocular disease, contact lens fitting and evaluations, refractive surgery evaluation and co-management, as well as comprehensive eye exams. Dr. Lombardi is currently a member of the American Optometric Association and the Pennsylvania Optometric Association. He enjoys golfing and skiing as well as local and regional activities. Dr. Lombardi resides in Drums.

Patricia Russo, O.D.

After receiving her undergraduate degree in Biology from Ithaca College in New York, Dr. Russo received B.S. and O.D. degrees from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia. Dr. Russo has been a member of Eye Care Specialists' optometric staff since 1993. Dr. Russo's awards and honors include the Optometric Recognition Award in 1997. She is currently a member of the American Optometric Association, the Pennsylvania Optometric Association, and the Northeastern Pennsylvania Optometric Association. Dr Russo published a research article in American Academy Optometry in 1990. Dr. Russo participated in a trip to Mexico in 1990 through SOSH (Student Optometric Services to Humanity). She has also served on the Board for Candy’s Place, a Cancer Resource Center.

Marie E Sokol, O.D.

Dr. Marie E. Sokol received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from the University of Scranton in 1983 where she received the Presidential Scholarship. She received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Visual Science in 1985 and her Doctor of Optometry Degree in 1987 from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. She also received her Teacher Certification in Biology from Drexel University in Philadelphia in 2005. She received her Board Certification in Treatment and Management of Ocular Disease in 1998; and her Board Certification for treatment and management of Glaucoma in 2003. Dr. Sokol has been in private practice in Scranton, Pa since 1987. She has also been part of the adjunct faculty at Northampton Community College in Tannersville since August of 2005 where she taught Biology to non-science majors and allied health majors.

Dr. Sokol specializes in comprehensive eye exams, optometric management of ocular disease, contact lens fittings and evaluations; refractive surgery evaluations and Co-management.

Dr. Sokol is a member of the American Optometric Association, American Optometric Association contact Lens Section, Pennsylvania Optometric Association, Northeastern Pennsylvania Optometric Association, National Science Teachers Association (NSTA), and the Society for College Science Teachers (SCST).

She has received the Arthur Shlaifer Memorial Award –Excellence in Clinical and Didactic Pathology, Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society, Who’s Who in Executive Professional – 1994, Student Optometric Service to Humanity (SOSH) - Domenica, West Indies - February 1987, and Consumers’ Research Council of America “Guide to America’s Top Optometrists” Listing - January 2004-2005.

Dr. Sokol joined Eye Care Specialists in 2006 and sees patients in the Scranton Office which is located at 425 Adams Avenue, Scranton, PA. Dr. Sokol lives in Old Forge.

Michele E Wasilauski, O.D.

Dr. Wasilauski received B.S and O.D degrees from the the Pennsylvania College of Optometry in Philadelphia. She has been a member of the Eye Care Specialists optometric staff since 2003. She specializes comprehensive eye exams, contact lens fitting and evaluations, optometric management of ocular disease, refractive surgery evaluation and co-management, and comprehensive and low vision eye exams. Dr. Wasilauski is currently a member of the American Optometric Association, Pennsylvania Optometric Association and the Northeast Pennsylvania Optometric Society. She is also a member with the Beta Sigma Kappa International Optometric Honor Society.

Dr. Wasilauski’s interests include animal welfare and environmental protection/conservation. She enjoys kayaking, fitness, hiking and cooking. Dr. Wasilauski and her husband, Robert G. Lawrence, Jr., reside in Bear Creek.
