FOR RELEASE: September 20, 2019
Kingston, PA Eye Care Specialists is pleased to announce that Harvey Reiser, M.D. implanted the first new generation of Visual Freedom Lens, the PanOptix® lens from Alcon.
Alcon, the global leader in eye care, recently announced that they received FDA approval for the launch of AcrySof® IQ PanOptix® Trifocal Intraocular Lens (IOL). PanOptix® is the first and only trifocal lens for patients undergoing cataract surgery in the U.S. This revolutionary lens is clinically shown to deliver an exceptional combination of near, intermediate and distance vision while significantly reducing the need for glasses after surgery.
Always at the forefront of technology, Eye Care Specialists continues to strive to provide the most advanced treatments and procedures to ensure their patients have options that will provide them with the best possible vision for their lifestyle.
“I think this is a big step for lenses, that are going to help us give patients good vision at distance, intermediate and near, greatly reducing or eliminating the need for glasses. We’re excited to be able to offer this advancement to our patients in Greater NEPA and beyond,” stated Dr. Reiser.
PanOptix® is already one of the leading presbyopia-correcting IOL’s in more than 70 countries. Presbyopia is an “aging of the eye” that causes people over the age of 40 to need reading glasses. The new lens uses technology that optimizes intermediate vision without compromising near and distance vision. PanOptix® is designed for today’s active lifestyle, from viewing mobile devices and computer screens to high-quality distance vision in a wide range of lighting conditions – substantially reducing the need for glasses after cataract surgery and providing patients with better vision and more freedom to lead full, active lifestyles.
