An Emphasis on Patient Education
At Eye Care Specialists, we believe that patient education is an important component to delivering the exceptional eye care you deserve. Every new patient receives our New Patient Welcome Packet in the mail before their first appointment. This packet provides detailed information that will help you better understand the services available to you. New patients coming for LASIK or cataract surgery consultations also receive additional packets providing information on the benefits and risks of these procedures.
Initial consultations with our Pennsylvania eye doctors are extremely thorough. Our doctors will spend as much time as needed to provide you with detailed information on your recommended procedure, and they will answer any questions you may have about your treatment plan or our qualifications.
We will never recommend a procedure unless we believe it is the best course of action to ensure optimal levels of long term eye health. Due to our extensive team of ophthalmology and optometry specialists, we will often cross-refer you to other doctors in the practice to make sure your recommended treatment plan will best meet your needs.

During the early 2000s, the team featured a number of future Major League all-stars including Chase Utley, Ryan Howard, Shane Victorino, and Cole Hamels.
In 2007, the team became the minor league affiliate of the New York Yankees and changed their name to the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees.
